A good old fashion pounding

No, not a good old fashion whippin.  A pounding.  Have you ever heard of one?  The idea is to "pound" a family with goods needed for the kitchen.  Such as a pound of sugar, flour, eggs, milk, canned goods, spices, oil, toiletries, etc...

When should you do such a thing?  How about when a family has a new baby?  A hot meal is a wonderful thing...unless you have picky eaters (*guilt* like our family*) then a meal can be more of a burden than a blessing.

Pound them with the items to make a simple meal instead....a simple can of sauce, noodles, and bread to make spaghetti instead of making your grandmother's favorite recipe that might include such goodies as Italian sausage and hunks of cheese on top.  Give them a box of Eggos, syrup, a carton of eggs, pre-cooked bacon, and a gallon of milk.  This could replace an egg casserole that may be your absolute favorite (like mine-yum!) but is not a favorite of the husband in the house (like mine).

Do you have a family that is just moving in near you?

Pound them with toilet paper, small travel size containers of toiletries, dish soap, some purex laundry sheets, some light bulbs, and a gift card for a pizza.

Any kindness that you can show to others is always such a blessing...just remember that it doesn't always have to be in the form of your favorite to die for recipe.
